Educating on the conservation of British owls
Ian with Misty the barn owl
I regularly receive great feedback from teaching staff for the quality of my services for schools - here are some examples of letters and e-mails I have received after Wild Owl school visits
The sessions were inspiring - and I think the comment from a Year 6 teacher that “This afternoon has been the highlight of my school year so far” says it all.

The children were attentitive, fascinated and came away from the sessions full of amazement and wonder and knowledge. They were encouraged to respect owls as beautiful birds of prey and you gave them so much to think about and a lot of relevent information.

Your session truly enriched our primary curriculum - thank you.

Thank you for your visit - the children thoroughly enjoyed it. They learnt a lot of information through both the assembly and the class sessions.

The information was at just the right level and your subject knowledge was fantastic!

Great value for money!

Dearest Ian,

You were inspirational yesterday and I would just like to say the children really learnt a lot and enjoyed every moment.

I myself have been in with Y6 today doing some detailed art work based on the owls. We were thinking of doing a mini trip to you with our Eco team to perhaps buy some owl boxes!!

Hi Ian,

I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful experience you gave our children on Wednesday. Your talk was just right, and it was good for the children to see an owl so close. They were inspired and the art work we got from it was tremendous.

It was nice to see both staff and children gathering round my display board the following day, all talking excitedly about it. A number of mums said how excited the children had been about it when they got home too. The children have been interested enough to find out more about owls, and other birds too, after our bird watch for the RSPB yesterday.

Once again, thank you very much & I look forward to seeing you and Misty again in the future.

Hello Ian,

....... thanks for Tuesday - the children are so fired up about owls now and their parents say they can't stop talking about your visit! They have made an owl sanctuary for their role-play area in the classroom so they can pretend to be you.

Thanks -  Louise Ashton - St. Johns Primary School (2010)

Hi Ian

It should be me thanking you! It was a wonderful day for our children and something very special!!

We all really enjoyed your visit and Misty!

You have such a knowledge about owls and were very good at handling the children! Usually you get one or the other.

I will be asking our PTA to fund some of your cameras so will be in touch to order some before the end of the school year so we can get them set up over the hols.

Many thanks indeed for a great presentation. Much appreciated letters from the children will follow!

Warmest wishes Julie Carr - Lynham Primary School (2009)

Dear Ian,

Many thanks for your time and input today. You inspired the children and interested the staff who learnt things too!

You pitched both the assembly and the class based sessions to the needs of the children really well. And we look forward to inviting you back to Brockeridge again next year.

Regards Julie gardener - Head Teacher - Brockeridge Infant School

Hi Ian,

Just wanted to say thanks again for your visit to the Ridge School last Wednesday and thought you'd like to know that you were a big success with all year groups! I had a lot of positive feedback both from staff and children.

Kind Regards - Sally Frogley
