Jaz the Tawny Owl is the 2011 Yeo Valley Owl
If you have seen the 2011 Yeo Valley ‘The Churned - Forever’ advertising campaign, you will have noticed it featured a tawny owl sitting on one of the boy band members arm - the owl is Jaz, my tawny owl.
Although Jaz is used to promote owl conservation throughout the year, at times we get a chance to go out and do something that is a little different and even more exciting. So in July 2011 I was approached by Pulse Films in London, who wanted an owl for a new advert they were filming for Yeo Valley Farms. This new ad was a follow up to West Country farmers, Yeo Valley’s hugely successful 2010 campaign, which strangely featured a cute but non-native owl, Ted, an African Spotted Eage Owl.

Jaz had already appeared on TV and in a movie, but this was her first advert - it was nice to be involved in the project and see her on the TV. On the day she was brilliant, and I think you’ll agree that she looks great in the ad. Here are some of the background pictures that I took during the filming on location in Blagdon, North Somerset.
