If you are unsure what an owl prowl is, please click here
Please wear suitable clothing and footwear to outdoor events to allow for changing weather conditions and muddy surfaces.
Please bring a torch!!!
Some events are free, but others are chargeable - please check with the organisers for more details.
Owl prowls are suitable for all the family and only light walking is involved. However, please check with contacts for wheelchair/pram suitability.
Owl prowls will still go ahead in rain, but for safety reasons, extreme weather may lead to owl prowls being cancelled at short notice - this is beyond my control and where appropriate an alternative date will be arranged. With this in mind, you may need to check with the organiser of an event if the weather on the day of the event is very bad.
Most owl prowls are approximately 2 hours from start to finish, but may extend and/or be cut short due to seeing wild owls or adverse weather
I am often asked which is the best site to find wild owls. I do not choose the sites where I lead owl prowls each year, as I supply my services to demand, but most have good potential for wild owls - indeed, my success rate for calling in wild owls on my owl prowls each year is about 60 - 70%. However, some are harder than others and there are no guarantees of wild owls - however, anyone that has been on a Wild Owl owl prowl before will vouch that it is great fun, educational and...... well, lets just say the kids don’t go home disappointed!!
